Buenos Aires and Mendoza
The four major Buenos Aires universities(Catholic University of Argentina, University of Buenos Aires, University of Salvador, and University of Torcuato di Tella) and a renowned university in Mendoza (the National University of Cuyo) make up the the Institute for Study Abroad – Butler University Argentine Universities Program. They are rated among the best universities in the Western hemisphere and each offers students a wide range of academic disciplines and study abroad program arrangments from which to choose.
Argentina, the largest Spanish-speaking country in South America, provides students a rich study abroad experience. Buenos Aires, “the Paris of the Americas,” has a reputation as a sophisticated and international city famous for its café culture, tango music, and glamour. Mendoza, located at the foothills of the Andes Mountains, has a population of over a million people and is a great base for outdoor adventure and sporting activities.

Academic Highlights
All students are required to take Spanish Language and Culture (3 cr) and must have a minimum of four(4) semesters of college-level Spanish prior to arrival. The four universities in Buenos Aires offer an impressive range of disciplines of study from the liberal arts, social sciences, business and economics. The National University of Cuyo in Mendoza is noted for its fine and performing arts as well as for a wide range of liberal arts and social sciences.

Housing and Meals
IFSA-Butler houses all students in homestays with carefully selected and screened Argentine families. This living situation includes either two(2) or three(3) meals per day.
Services Provided
IFSA-Butler provides a complete infrastructure of residential and academic support. A resident director is on site in both Buenos Aires and Mendoza. From a thorough two-week orientation to the site, the language, the universities and the culture to planned excursions, IFSA-Butler facilitates every aspect of your semester. There is also individual language tutoring to help students succeed.
