The University of Cologne is among the oldest and most prestigious universities in Europe. The University now enrolls over 40,000 students, and more than 6,200 students come from over 130 other countries. The university is situated in the heart of the city of Cologne, “the biggest and most famous small-town in the world,” according to its citizens. Cologne lies right in the center of Europe along the Rhine, and citizens and students alike love using their bicycles to get around.

Academic Highlights/Language
English: Master’s of Environmental Science; the CISP: Cologne Intensive Study Program in European Management during June for MBA students; American Studies, English/American literature

German: Extensive disciplines available

German language as a Foreign Language: intensive preparatory course for about 5 weeks prior to each semester plus German language courses at appropriate individual level

Housing is available through the University, but it is necessary to plan well in advance to be certain of this. Also, homestays are possible.
