Please visit our Admissions webpage for a list of application documents that all international students are required to submit:
in addition to the online application form that you can complete.
As a citizen of a Latin American country applying to Duquesne, please note the following:
Undergraduate Students
- If you have Internet access, be sure to submit your online application to accelerate the admission process. If you do not have Internet access, you can also request an application packet at: oip@duq.edu. We will send this packet to you through the postal service.
- You are required to send secondary school transcripts (grades reports) from at least the last 4 years of your education with your application. This will include the final results of your secondary school certificate. At Duquesne, we will seriously consider grade results of 7 and above in all subjects (in a 10 point system), 16-17 and above (in a 20-point system), and 80% or above ( in a 100-point system). For students attending American-style secondary school, we expect the overall GPA to be around a 3.0 or better.
* This requirement is to provide a broad idea of grade requirements and may vary according to which school and to which particular program a student applies. Your can contact the OIP if you have questions regarding a certain program.
- If you have taken the TOEFL within the last year, please include this in your application. A score of 575 (P)/ 90- 91 (I)/ 233 (C) allows you to be excused from English courses. If you do not have a TOEFL score, this is not a problem as the TOEFL is not a requirement; you will simply take the ESL Michigan test with all other new international students. You will be excused from English or placed accordingly into English classes alongside your academic classes.
Graduate Students
- If you have Internet access, please go to our Graduate Majors Website to access an online application for each program. Please note that not all Graduate programs are currenlty accepting online applications and you will be required to submit a paper application. If you do not have access to the Internet or the program does not provide online applications, please contact the OIP at oip@duq.edu to request an application packet.
- You are required to send all of your university transcripts (grade reports) with you application. Each program evaluates your university performance differently.
- You are required to submit a TOEFL that is current within the last year. A score of 550 (P)/ 79-80 (I)/ 213 (C) is required of most programs. You may also be required to sit for the Michigan English Proficiency Test upon arrival to Duquesne, if deemed necessary by our English as a Second Language Department.
