Universidad de Málaga is a relatively new university founded in the 1960s to meet the growing social demands of the area. Less than three decades after its founding, the university has become a cultural and academic magnet throughout the area. Málaga is also a great supporter of technology and has produced many alumni in the science and technology fields. The university is popular with international students from around the world, and more than 15 percent of its 40,000 students come from outside of Spain.
Málaga is a vibrant port city on the Costa del Sol , near the southern border of Spain . Set against the backdrop of the Mediterranean ’s sparkling blue waters, Málaga’s wide boulevards and lush gardens emphasize the city’s long history. It was home to the Moors until 1487, and its architecture still reflects a strong Islamic influence. Pablo Picasso was one of Málaga’s most famous residents.
