Located in the East End of London, Queen Mary University has roots extending into the eighteenth century and was admitted to the University of London in 1915. It is one of the largest and most diverse universities in the United Kingdom . A modern, forward-looking university with a rich historic past, it boasts extensive course offerings in both the hard sciences and liberal arts, as well as in business studies. It also offers extensive library holdings (1.6 million volumes) and computing facilities. The Student Union is among the most lively and active in the country.

Housing and Meals
Most international students are housed on campus in modern, self-catered “flats” or apartments. Accommodation in shared student houses close to campus is also possible. Three to six students may share a flat, but each student has his or her own single bedroom in the flat. Kitchen spaces and bathrooms are generally shared. Traditional residence hall facilities with a meal plan are also available at South Woodford Hall, located in a suburb 35 minutes by subway from Queen Mary’s main Mile End campus.

Services Provided
International students at Queen Mary have access to both a Director of Study Abroad and a Study Abroad Advisor to assist students with personal, academic, and financial issues. A confidential advice and counseling service is available to all students. Chaplaincy services and religious services are available serving a variety of faiths.
